The California Calling are a full-time professional function band that specialise in Wedding & Corporate Function performances. With over 200 'Happy Couples' and corporations including the likes of The Royal Navy, The MoD, P&O, NatWest, Billabong, Abercrombie & Fitch, Jack Wills and Sport England included in their portfolio of clients, you can be assured that your booking will be delivered with elite professionalism from enquiry to performance.

So, below are some of the questions that we regularly get asked by our clients. Hopefully, you'll find them useful.

 

How many are in the band?

There are 3 of us as standard.

 

How much do you charge?

Our fee varies depending on the time of year. For example, a Summer Saturday would be significantly more expensive that a Tuesday in February for example. Please use the quote form to get an accurate price and check availability.

Is the band always the same members?

As our diary is so busy, like any professional function band, we have a pool of 5 musicians that we call upon so the lineup does vary from gig to gig but the standard is always the same and the members are used to playing with one another.

Do you do a discount for charity?

We certainly do. We will always discount 15% off our fee for a registered charity as long as 100% of the proceeds are going to that cause.

Do you bring your own equipment?

For weddings, we're completely self contained and bring with us a professional PA and Lighting system so our brides and grooms don't have to worry about anything on the day. For corporate shows at very large venues, we provide a technical specification for your production company to work from. Our manager will always liase with them to make sure everything runs smoothly.

What else do we have to provide?

We do ask that your provide some food and soft drinks for the band either prior to the performance or in the interval if the set is to be broken into two which is often that case at weddings. We also ask that you ensure there are three car parking spaces for us.

Do you bring a stage and dance floor?

No. They're not something that band's provide. Your venue will be able to supply you with contact details of one of their approved suppliers. We are more than happy to perform on the floor though so please don't feel obliged to hire a stage.

Can we choose what songs you play?

We always choose the set list on the night as we go according to the type of audience that we find in front of us so don't allow clients to choose it in advance. That said, we will happily fire over our full repertoire list so that you can choose some favourites and we'll do our very best to include them in the performance.

Do you offer music in the daytime?

We certainly do. We offer an acoustic soloist or duo option. You'll be given the option of adding those to the booking when you complete the contract form. They are both 60 minute sets and are available from 2pm.
